Professionally known by his stage name Tyga, was born Micheal Ray Nguyen-Stevenson on 19 November, 1989, in Compton, California United States.


He is 5 ft 8 in (1.73 m) and of Vietnamese and Jamaican descent. He was raised in Compton, California and moved down to adjacent Gardena when he was 12.


Michael grew up listening to Lil Wayne, Fabolous, Eminem, Cam’ron and other Musicans.


His mother’s maiden name is Nguyen, she was born in Vietnam.


During the television show Bustas, he claimed he grew up in wealthy home in the Valley, he also acclaimed that his parents drove a Range Rover and the name “Tyga”, emanated from his usual habit of his mom refering to him as “Tiger Woods” always.


The above assertion of coming from “well to do” family was revealed to be untrue after he cleared the air on twitter by saying: “When u 14 an ambitious u don’t give a fuk about anything. Scripted tv isn’t that what we all live for. Hahahaha.”


He is also called “T-Raww” and attended Gardena High School with no diploma.

Tyga is a US, Rapper, singer, songwriter and has a television channel Branded “Kingin’ with Tyga”. His Genre of music is Hip-hop. He has been active in his musical career from 2004 till date.


He works with Columbia, Last Kings, EMPIRE, GOOD, Interscope, Cash Money, Young Money, Republic, G.E.D. Inc., Decaydance Record Label.


He has worked with these Musicans: Chris Brown, CrakWav, Jess Jackson, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Wizkid, Schoolboy Q, Travie McCoy, YG and many Others.


After series of musical release, he signed a recording contract in 2008 with, Cash Money Records, Young Money Entertainment, and Republic Records.


Careless World was his debut album. In 2011, he released “Rise of the last King”.

The album contained, “Far Away” (featuring Chris Richardson),

“Rack City”, “Faded” (featuring Lil Wayne), “Make It Nasty”, “Still Got It” (featuring Drake).


After the Album he released Hotel California in 2013, Fan of a Fan: The Album in 2015 which he collaborated with Chris Brown.


Tyga’s next album which was The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty was released independently on 23 June, 2015; as a result of differences he had with Young money Records.


5,000 album was sold in its first week, this was the lowest selling album at that time. The album was produced by Kanye West.


In May 2018 he released his single, “Taste” which features Offset. The song peaked at number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was his first Top 40 single since “Ayo” which he did with Chris Brown in 2015.


“Taste” will serve as lead single for his 7th album Legendary, released in 2019.




This came through after long duration of negative reviews and low sales from his previous works.


He released couple of other singles throughout the 2018, which includes “Swish”, which was certified gold, “Dip” featuring Nicki Minaj, which was certified platinum; these came after the success of his “Taste” singles.


His 7th album “Legendary” was released in June 2019, he featured on Iggy Azalea’s platinum single, “Kream”, “Go Loko”, by YG featuring Tyga in 2019.


Tyga has it that, “We wanted to do something different to kinda try to bring all Latins together” and “Even YG could tell you, he grew up around all Mexicans, so we really wanted to do something to give back to the culture.”


Partnering with businessman Robert Earl in July 2020, they started up a virtual kitchen brand called “Tyga Bites”. They produced boneless chicken wings for delivery service only.

On 5 October, 2011, at The F.A.M.E Tour After Party with Chris Brown at King of Diamonds, Tyga met Blac Chyna in Miami.


In his “Rack City” music video, Blac Chyna was the leading Lady. They got married officially on 9 November, 2011 and begot their son King Cairo Stevenson on 16 October, 2012.


Tyga and his wife had their son’s name tattooed on their bodies and he bought $6.5 million mansion in Calabasas, California for his new family. The couple divorced in 2014.


A nude photo of Tyga which was allegedly sent to Mia Isabella, a transgender porn star, leaked online in 2015.


Again, he had relationship with Kylie Jenner who is a reality star, they both started dating since Jenner was 16, there relationship triggered some controversies as there was quite long age difference because the legal age to start dating in California is 18. They parted ways in April 2017.


Chris Brown and Tyga are close friends, they became close friends when Chris Brown’s music was getting low sales and he was about quitting music.
