Man Utd took us unawares with surprise signing, Chelsea £108m triple deal, Skriniar to Spurs

Manchester United and Chelsea are among the clubs looking to make signings still this month.

We’re into the final month of the Premier League transfer window with just 30 days left until the market closes and clubs continue to try and do deals. Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham are still keen to make more signings before September 1.

United’s pursuit of Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong remains ongoing while Red Bull Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko has emerged as a target up top. Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at Old Trafford is up in the air still.

Chelsea are pursuing more defenders with Leicester’s Wesley Fofana their top target although the Foxes want £85million for the Frenchman. Denzel Dumfries of Inter Milan is another major target for the Blues.

While Tottenham could still sign another centre-back before the window is out with Inter’s Milan Skriniar long linked with Spurs, who have had a busy summer already.

Batshuayi open to Everton switch

Chelsea outcast Michy Batshuayi is open to completing a summer switch to reunite with Frank Lampard at Everton.

According to talkSPORT, Lampard views Batshuayi as Richarlison’s replacement after his £60m move to Tottenham Hotspur.

And Thomas Tuchel would be happy to offload the 28-year-old, who has entered the final year of his Blues contract.

He could be the fourth signing of the window at Goodison Park after James Tarkowski, Ruben Vinagre and Dwight McNeil.

Chelsea’s Werner dilemma

Chelsea face a dilemma this summer as Timo Werner’s RB Leipzig return grows increasingly more likely.

Sky Germany report his return to Leipzig is getting ever-closer, with negotiations now running at full speed.

The Bundesliga outfit are checking the possibility of both a loan and a permanent deal, which leaves Thomas Tuchel with a big decision to make.

Werner is ready to take a significant pay cut to leave Chelsea for Leipzig, but whether the club are ready to offload him permanently remains to be seen.

Ten Hag’s five targets

After completing three summer signings so far in his first transfer window as Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag still has room for plenty more recruitment.

And depending on outgoings, the Dutchman could make as many as FIVE new additions before the deadline.

United want a backup goalkeeper, central midfielder and at least one established forward in the final month of the window.

The Red Devils are also keen to upgrade at right-back and improve their attacking depth with a young forward…

Tottenham join Chelsea in Skriniar hunt

Tottenham Hotspur are in the frame to sign in-demand Inter Milan centre-back Milan Skriniar this summer.

CBS Sports report Tottenham are ‘loosely’ in the race for his signature, also involving Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.

The Blues are reportedly in talks over a deal worth around £59m as Thomas Tuchel eyes another marquee defensive addition.

But a reunion with Antonio Conte after their success at the San Siro in 2020/21 could lure Skriniar to the other end of London.

Man Utd set for surprise signing

Manchester United are set to appoint former England midfielder Tom Huddlestone as a hybrid U23 player-coach, The Telegraph report.

The Red Devils want to replace Paul McShane, who has moved solely into coaching, after the success of his move last season.

Academy head Nick Cox introduced the presence of an experienced professional to help standards in training and believes McShane brought major value during his time at the club.

Chelsea’s £108m triple deal

Chelsea are in talks over a triple raid of Serie A giants Inter Milan as Thomas Tuchel continues to look to Italy for summer reinforcements.

The Blues could make as many as four more signings in their transfer window under new ownership as Tuchel prepares for his second full season as head coach.

According to Calciomercato, Chelsea are vying to sign right-back Denzel Dumfries, centre-back Milan Skriniar and midfield starlet Cesare Casadei.

The report adds that moves for all three stars would accumulate to around £103m – Skriniar (£59m), Dumfries (34m) and Casadei (£10m).
