What is Young Thug charged to Court for?
Young Thug was arrested on (May 9) Monday Afternoon, Georgia based on gang-related activities.
Young Thug’s arrest follows the filing of a 56-count grand jury indictment in Georgia’s Fulton County, which names 28 members or associates of the YSL “criminal street gang,” including fellow rapper Gunna, whose legal name is Sergio Giavanni Kitchens, who is also charged with one count of conspiring to violate RICO.
What is the reason for Young thug’s arrest?
The 88-page indictment lays out the charges. Young Thug has been linked to a variety of crimes, including armed robbery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and murder, both directly and indirectly.
YSL, of which Young Thug is a founding member, “claims membership with the national Bloods gang,” according to officials.
YSL company is known as “Young Slime Life,” but its initials are the same as those of the 30-year-old rapper’s Young Stoner Life Records label.
Two YSL associates sought Young Thug for “permission” to “make a second effort to assassinate” the Atlanta rapper YFN Lucci in February of this year, according to the indictment, when he was detained at Fulton County Jail awaiting a murder trial.
Lucci was stabbed at the facility on February 9th, according to Complex, in an incident that prosecutors say was carried out by YSL associates.
The listed defendants are accused of conspiring “to join together and with others for the common objective of illegally gaining money and property through a pattern of racketeering behavior,” according to prosecutors.
The Grammy Award winner is also accused of hiring a 2014 Infiniti Q50 automobile on Jan. 10, 2015, which was then “used in the conduct of the murder” of rival gang member Donovan Thomas, Jr.
Fulton County Sheriff Patrick Labat acknowledged that Kitchens was not yet in arrest at a press conference on Tuesday, but said he had contacted the rapper’s reps. “We’re making preparations,” Labat added, “as much as he had representatives call me directly last night.” “So we’ll get right on that and get back to you.”
Prosecutors claim Young Thug boasted about Thomas’ murder in a video posted to social media about two weeks after the crime, saying, “so a no lie to their momma, lie to their kids, lie to their brothers and sisters then get right into the courtroom and tell the God’s truth, don’t get it, y’all n—-s need to get fucking killed bro, from me and YSL.”
It is believed Young Thug was in regular contact with Kyle Oree, a leader of the Blood-affiliated Sex Money Murder street gang, according to Fulton County officials, who stated in one discussion that “sacrifices must be made, warriors must fall for the battle to be won.
Prosecutors claim that a photo of the Atlanta resident “wearing red clothes, and flashing a YSL gang hand sign” is “an overt conduct in support of the conspiracy.” The document also includes a screenshot of a March 9 photo of Young Thug and Gunna from the latter’s Instagram account, captioned “slatt biz, YSL4L” — “slime love all the time” and “Young Slime Life for life,” two acronyms prosecutors claim the YSL syndicate uses frequently.
This is not the first time Young Thug has been arrested.
The rapper’s arrest on Monday is his second run-in with the law.
After making “terroristic threats” to a mall security guard, Young Thug was arrested during a raid on his house in July 2015 and charged with weapons and narcotics offences the same month, he was accused in an indictment accusing his former tour manager of shooting at Lil Wayne’s tour buses in April of that year while in an altercation in Atlanta. That filing, like Monday’s, focused on Young Thug’s high-level connection with the YSL organization.
The rapper was arrested in September 2018 on felony narcotics charges coming from a traffic stop in September 2017. Eventually, he was cleared of all charges.
Gunna Kitchen, who was in the car at the time of the 2017 incident, was charged with a misdemeanor window tint violation and possession of less than one ounce of marijuana at the time.
